Through a Child's Eyes

Growing up with your father in and out of prison is not the easiest thing to go through, yet it is common in today’s society, but the child never gets through it. It is always a burden or that scarlet letter they will have to bare.

Since I can remember, my father was always in the system. Confused about his identity made me scared of him as a person. I used to run in fear of my father as a little girl because I didn’t know him, but also because, in the picture, he was a big dude. It made it hard for me to understand what role he played. The first time it was confirmed and made clear who my father was, I saw him in prison.
